An immersive theatrical experience for the whole whānau, brought right to your local!

The Girl Whose Twin Was A Bird is a coming of age story about twinhood told through puppetry, cooking, and puppets who cook! Hand Pulled Collective is bringing this show, written and performed by award-winning theatremaker Talia Pua, to community spaces across Tāmaki Makaurau for FREE this April!

It’s the 5th Year Anniversary celebration of Petra Quek’s noodle stall, ‘Flying Mee Hoon Kueh’ and you’re invited! Join Petra as she cooks her signature dish, Mee Hoon Kueh, and shares the story of how it all started… Jena and Petra are twin sisters and best friends who dream of owning their very own noodle restaurant. Then, Jena starts to grow feathers. Which is no big deal. But when Jena develops a beak, wings, and penchant for watching the sky, Petra worries that their dream of opening a noodle shop is turning into a solo flight.

At the end of the performance, audience members will be invited to try a small serving of Mee Hoon Kueh - a Hokkien Chinese noodle dish.

Proudly hosted and supported by Franklin Arts Centre. Proudly funded and supported by the Franklin Local Board.
