In the lead-up to ANZAC Day, Gallipoli’s human stories take the stage.

Mark Wright’s critically acclaimed one man show, 'Voices From Gallipoli' brings to life nine vividly drawn characters inspired by real stories from the First World War. Moving seamlessly between voices, ages, and perspectives - from young conscripts to veterans, medics, officers and family members, Wright offers an intimate, human portrait of the campaign that shaped the ANZAC legacy.

First developed under the working title ‘The Gallipoli Monologues’ the play draws on Wright’s passion for history and personal connection to the Gallipoli campaign, combining meticulous research with compelling storytelling to create a theatrical experience that resonates across generations.

Described by actor and director Peter Feeney as “a tour de force” and “an actor at the height of his powers,” the work has been praised for its emotional depth, humour and historical insight. Reviewers have noted Wright’s ability to balance tragedy and wit, crafting a piece that is “sparsely but precisely staged, hilarious, and gut-wrenchingly moving.”

“Voices From Gallipoli isn’t just about history, it’s about people - ordinary men and women caught in extraordinary circumstances. These stories still speak to who we are today.” (Mark Wright)

With ANZAC Day approaching, ‘Voices From Gallipoli’ offers a timely opportunity for audiences to reflect on sacrifice, memory, and the enduring impact of war through a deeply personal lens.

Please note: This show is inspired by real stories of ANZAC soldiers and their loved ones. Contains descriptions of war, death, explicit medical issues and procedures, violence, gunshot sound effects.
